So while I have my doors apart for my audio build, I figured I'd finally tackle this silly driver's side mirror. It actually was so easy, it made me a little angry I had been putting up with it for so long. SO after 6 long years, it's fixed! On to the pics..

First step is to pull off the mirror sail cover. Pry on it from the bottom right and it just pops off.

Second, you'll want to remove the screw in the center holding the mirror sail housing on and unclip the wiring harness if you have power mirrors.

Next, there will be a screw under the cover you just took of, plus another hidden under the weather stripping. Just pry next to the pin and it flops out of the way.

Next, gently pull the mirror from the door. There will be a little bit of electrical tape holding the wire to the squishy black mirror backing. Take it off so the wire can slide freely, then slide the black foamy bit out of the way.

Now there will be a center cup the wire is channeled inside. Un loop it from there. There are also 5 screws on the underside of the mirror housing, 3 large and 2 small. One is recessed in a little hole and it is the one actually holding on to the mirror itself.

Now with all the screws out, the thing should just all come apart. Slide the mirror glass up and then tip the housing down and it should just fall out.

Those 2 hooks here in the picture are what the mirror holds onto. Why they're metal here and plastic on the other part we'll never know.

Now THIS is the piece that breaks! I got lucky and after all these years it was still rattling around in the housing. I wish I had some stronger glue or epoxy like Plumbers Goop, but I just had super glue. We'll see how long it holds..

Now glue that sucker back on, or fashion from metal or whatever is handy a new hook to match the other one if your piece is missing.

Now just wait for the glue to dry and put it all back together opposite how you took it apart! Easy huh?
