I think it would be a good idea to list my sources of info about porting, so you know I'm not just making this stuff up. :-) If you try this with your head don't just take my word and copy everything I did, read all the pages I'm going to list and decide for yourself how you want to go about things. Who knows maybe you will come up with better ideas of how to work things!
The best articles IMO are the ones from theoldone.com because they deal with Honda heads specifically:
STANDARD ABRASIVES SMALL BLOCK HEAD
ANOTHER VIEW ON INTAKE PORTING
(Don't take this one as gospel, it's not an entirely accurate picture of head porting because it's actually dealing with motorcycle heads. Just remember bigger isn't always better!)
Now for the tools I'm using:
Air powered die grinder:

Set of short carbide burrs for the head, and a set of long ones for the manifold. Check e-bay for sets of these because you can get them cheap:

(Yes if you look close I managed to break one of the long burrs, shit happens and that set didn't cost me much.)
Several standard abrasives porting kits etc. 2 kits with cartridge rolls and 2 boxes of crossbuffs one medium and one very fine:

Now before anyone asks "Can I just use a dremel?" yes, but it's going to take longer, and your going to use a ton of sanding wheels/disks if you try to actually "port" it. Also, I'm not sure what lengths of mandrels you can get for dremels, but if you plan on doing the manifold you better make sure you can find at least a 9" mandrel so you can reach down into the runners to port them.
Although I have a section showing me installing the head, this tutorial doesn't actually cover removing or installing the head, cams, etc, etc. Get out your helms manual for that stuff. I'm also not listing all the tools required to remove and install the head so, yeah.
