Installing Front Brakes

Start by putting the new rotors on. Just line up the beveled holes with the screw holes on the hub. My brembos came with new screws to use so I used those.

Rotor installed:

Next comes the caliper bracket install.

I took the pin and rubber boot that slips into the bracket out, wiped off the old grease, put new grease on, then reinstalled. This step is important.:

Make sure you put the little clips/brackets back onto it if you took them off:

Now install it like it came off. Here is a view from the rear:

Use the torque wrench and torque the bolts to spec, I have the torque specs for everything here:

Now put the pads on. The one with the metal clip sticking out goes on the back:

For the front calipers first take out the banjo bolt you put in to paint them and carefully drain any fluid still in it into a container. Remember try not to get any brake fluid on the new paint.

Use a C clamp to compress the piston. Some more brake fluid will probably come out of the banjo bolt hole when you do this:

Make sure to put the brake pad spring back on if you took it out:

Now set the caliper in place on the caliper bracket and screw in the bolts that hold it on by hand. You will notice the pin the bolts screw into has a flat edge on either side of it; you need to make sure it lines up with the caliper correctly. If not the caliper wont sit correctly, or the bolts could break when tightening them down, or just fall out down the road. Here are 2 pics of it:

Torque the caliper bolts to spec and you're done with the caliper:

Here is the new front brake line. Leave the red caps in the ends until your ready to screw them in so you don't get any dirt in there:

Take the red end cap out of the hard line side and slip it up in the bracket, put the clip on like the stock one, and thread the hard line into it:

Hold the new line with a 19mm wrench and use a 10mm wrench to screw in the fitting. Don't tighten it down all the way you want to be able to rotate the line still:

Attach the rear shock bracket but don't tighten this down either just screw it in by hand:

You will notice it seems to be missing the front shock bracket. Take the old one off the original line and put it onto that little white part on the new line. Put one of the 10mm bolts into the knuckle bracket to hold it in place. Again just tighten them by hand:

You wondering why I'm telling you not to tighten anything down?
The caliper end of the line has a curve in it. It needs to curve away from the caliper like in the next picture. If it's not facing the right direction you need to take all those bolts out and rotate the line a little. Eventually you will get it right:

Once you have everything lined up like you want put the new banjo bolt in that came with the line and put one of the brass washers on either side of the line end like in the next pic:

Tighten everything down. Use the torque wrench for the banjo bolt and don't torque it even a little more than spec; they break easy.

Do the same procedure for the other front corner.
